What Is A

Daily Money Manager

A Daily Money Manager, or DMM, is your advocate in all matters related to your daily non-investment finances by providing individualized financial care and personal organization.

Because personal finance has become more complicated and difficult to manage, it can be hard for those who are aging, or for those who simply do not have the time or desire to manage the details. The demand for DMMs has been growing steadily since the beginning of the 21st century. This is in part due to the increasing population of the elderly. While many children attempt to take on the task of managing their parent’s finances, many find it difficult as well as time consuming.

As a Daily Money Manager, I will work with you or your loved one to ensure bills and payments don’t fall through the cracks, records are kept up-to-date, taxes are handled, and medical bills are understood.

My Story

From an early age, my parents instilled in me a strong work ethic. At the young age of 10, I loved helping my grandparents with their nursery selling flowers and plants.

Over the past forty plus years, I have worked in a financial institution, for attorneys, CPAs, and tax preparation offices in various positions. I handled many responsibilities including reconciling bank accounts, record keeping, preparing tax returns, payroll and payroll taxes, estate tax returns, and much more. I regularly handled sensitive and confidential information and developed exceptional administrative and organizational skills.

Throughout my career, I have built many long-term relationships of trust and care with individuals, seniors, and their families. During my free time, whether it was helping my aging parents, relatives, or friends with paying bills, managing mail, establishing budgets, helping them to eliminate debt and save money, organizing files, or providing solutions so that things got done and nothing “fell through the cracks”, I always had a passion for helping and giving back to others. Although I did not get paid for those services at that time, my reward was the joy that I received knowing that I was giving people peace of mind and a better quality of life. As Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

I have found that many people truly do need assistance with their daily money management. Some do not have family members or a trusted person to assist them. Others have relatives far away who are unable to provide the help they need. I have also found that every situation, every family, and every individual is different in terms of their needs and goals and how they can best be served.

Although I enjoyed working as a Paraprofessional in a CPA Firm, I decided to take my passion and start a new chapter in my life as a Daily Money Manager with my company, Helping and Caring Hands, LLC. This will allow me the opportunity to focus my skills and talents in helping many other individuals who need these services. I am confident that my passion combined with my organizational and financial management skills can make a positive difference in peoples’ lives.

As a Daily Money Manager, I combine my accounting skills, problem-solving, organization, and a sharp eye for details, with my passion for developing meaningful relationships with people. Whether I am sitting at the kitchen table with an older adult or convening at the office of a small business owner, I enjoy bringing clarity and order to my clients’ financial lives so they may focus on what matters most and have more time to do what they love.

I was born and raised in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. My husband, Bill, and I have three children and two grandchildren. I am also very involved in my parish, Saint Clement Church, in Upper Yoder Township.
